Minister of Economics of Perantsa Advocate for fair trade and economic equity to benefit all citizens

Laslo Pohl (born 21 December 1977) is a Perantsan politician and economist who has served as Minister of Economics of Perantsa and president of the Social Action for Perantsa Party (SAP). Raised in a modest household in the northern port city of Peran, his mother worked at a shipping office and his father was a dock mechanic. Growing up amid the coastal working-class communities shaped his early conviction that economic policy must address social fairness and regional inequality. He studied economics at the University of Peran and later completed a master’s degree in public policy in Molbra, where he was influenced by cooperative labor movements.

In his early career, Pohl worked for a maritime logistics firm while volunteering in neighborhood councils, where he gained recognition for proposing transparent budgeting methods. By his mid-30s, he entered the city assembly of Peran for the Social Action Party and quickly rose as a prominent advocate for fair trade agreements, pension security, and tax parity for small businesses. He became leader of SAP in 2015, rebuilding the party from a declining left coalition into a central force in Perantsa’s parliament. In 2020, he was appointed Minister of Economics in a coalition government, credited with balancing coastal trade interests against inland manufacturing sectors.

Pohl is married to historian Mira Drakov and they have two children. His career has not been without hardship: during the 2009 shipping recession, his family nearly lost their home, an experience he often cites as his motivation for pursuing economic resilience policies. Today he is regarded as one of Perantsa’s most effective consensus-builders, combining pragmatism with a tone of social advocacy.
